Monday Musing // Inspire Happiness

I have always tried to be a cheerful person. I always aspire to be the one to smile, to be encouraging, to look at everything positively. To be happy.

Well, to be honest, maybe not always. I have bad days, a few moody moments, times when I really feel like I have to be the pessimist because its best. (Ya know, you just really think something is a bad idea.) But doesn't everyone? Its just part of life. But I think its important to try to be the optimist. Everyone you are around is affected by your attitude. You could be the reason someone's day went sour, or the reason they smiled all day.

It always inspires me when I talk to someone who I know has been going through a lot, yet they still smile and laugh, even when talking about it. They always see the bright side of hardship, and try to take the lesson they can learn from it. I love those people who "Choose to shine, even after all the storms they've been through." And have you noticed? They are always the people who talk about how thankful they are.

Too many people feel that if they have this, that, and half a dozen other things that they'll finally be happy. They need the perfect life with the right pay check, the best husband and friends, the prettiest house, which is perfectly clean, and the cutest, most well behaved dog. (Ehh, sorry, no dog is going to well behaved all the time, especially not the cutest ones. Ask me how I know. ;)

But the truth is, when we start thinking of everything we have and being thankful for all the little things, we start realizing how much we have. Being thankful helps bring contentment, and with that comes a true happiness.
So as we start the year 2015, we should take time to give thanks for the many rich blessings we have in life. We have a lot more then we realize, and if we stop and force ourselves to think of them and be thankful for them, our lives will be a happier place.

Make it a goal to list five things you are grateful for, everyday. This can help you attitude and outlook on life. And we know that when those alter, it affects the people around us. Imagine what a positive affect you can have on so many people.
